MSc Program Renewable Energy

The opening ceremony took place on the evening of the first day of the course in the festive Hall of the Technical University of Vienna. Prof. Dr. Reinhard Haas (course Director, TU Vienna) and DI Martina Prechtl (energy park Bruck/Leitha) led through the evening and welcomed numerous personalities from science, economy and research, including Mr. Dr. Gerhard Burian (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and labour), representatives of the main sponsors of this program (E.g. Raiffeisen Group), members of the Faculty and the Austrian lobby for renewable sources of energy. Dr. Franz Fischler (President of ecosocial Forum of Austria and also a member of the Advisory Board of the course) in his speech focused on the role of renewables in Europe’s energy policy. Prof. Dr. Helmut Drobir, the former head of the course, was honored during this ceremony. He was instrumental in developing, establishing and implementing of the MSc programme “Renewable Energy in Central and Eastern Europe” involved. Prof. Dr. Bob Martens, the Assistant Dean of studies for the agendas of the training, and Herbert Stava, the Chairman of the energy park Bruck/Leitha, took advantage of the opportunity and thanked him for his outstanding contribution to the course.
